WW1:
(Good actors-willing to play the part)

WW2:
(Need to study the lines)

WW3:
(Good actors-unwilling to compromise)

Your WWQ scores reflect your ability and/or desire to regulate your personal expressiveness to fit-in with the immediate social environment.

In any setting, people are generally motivated to ‘behave appropriately’. Behaviour in social settings (including the work-place), has been likened to performing in a stage-play or film production1.

Those with high WW are able to follow social scripts convincingly. They know their lines, have the right make-up and props and suitable costume; ‘they look the part’. They also continuously scan the environment for clues that tell them when to depart from the script and improvise as necessary so the ‘play’ can keep running without a hitch or any embarrassments.

On the other hand, those with low WW find it difficult to learn social scripts. They tend to say the wrong things at the wrong time to the wrong people! “They don’t look the part”. They are also fairly insensitive to the reactions of others and lack the confidence to improvise and ‘bluff it out’ with improvisation.

The third possibility is that individuals have the ability of high WW scorers but are not willing to follow the script. These individuals tend to know the social scripts and are sensitive to the reactions of fellow actors, but make a conscious decision not to fit-in. They have a confidence stemming from their inner core-values and will not compromise who they are with disguises and pretences.  They tend to display their true-selves in every situation, with a consistency between who they are privately and what they do publicly.
